Our Story

At Lake County Student Rides, our mission was born from my own personal journey.

As a single mother of two young boys, I experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find safe, dependable transportation for children. Balancing work, parenting, daycare schedules, and school activities often left me worried about how my children would get where they needed to be safely and on time.

Through those challenges, I realized that many other parents face the same struggles every day. As a former law enforcement officer, protecting and serving others has always been at the heart of who I am. That realization inspired me to create a transportation service that families can trust, one built on safety, reliability, and compassion.

As both a mother and a former law enforcement professional, I understand the trust parents place in someone caring for their children. That trust is something I never take for granted.

Lake County Student Rides was founded to provide safe, reliable, and affordable transportation for children throughout Lake County. We proudly help families with transportation to daycare, school, after-school programs, tutoring sessions, and educational activities.

Your exact price depends on how far your pickup address is from our base: $15–$24 within 5 miles, $20–$34 within 9 miles. Sibling discounts available for 2+ children on the same schedule, and a one-way-only monthly plan ($259–$345/mo) for families who only need us in one direction. Trips beyond 9 miles include a small per-mile add-on, shown before you book. Every price is shown up front — no phone call required.

Are your drivers background-checked?

Yes. Every driver completes a background check, motor vehicle record review, and CPR/First Aid certification before driving.

Who is my child's driver?

The caring and trusted individuals who help transport your children safely every day.

Right now, that's me personally — as the founder, I currently drive every single route myself, so you always know exactly who's picking up and dropping off your child. As we grow, any additional drivers will meet the same background-check, MVR, and CPR/First Aid standards before ever driving your child.

Can I schedule recurring rides?

Yes — both weekly and monthly recurring schedules (e.g., Monday–Friday school runs) are supported, with a discount for standing schedules. Monthly plans can even auto-renew each month so you don't have to rebook.

What if my child needs a car seat or booster?

We provide and install age-appropriate car seats and booster seats — just let us know your child's age when booking.
